Who it suits

Good fit when: you are comfortable performing live, you can keep fixed weekly hours, and you want an audience that is already browsing for cams—not only people you bring from Instagram or Reddit.

Weaker fit when: you only want to upload sets and reply to DMs; you refuse token economics that leave the platform a large share of viewer spend; or you need a simple monthly subscription as the main product (use a fan page for that job).

Chaturbate is not “OnlyFans with a webcam.” Public rooms often show more explicit content than a teaser feed. If your subscription page keeps hardcore behind a paid unlock, decide in advance what you will show for free on cam so you do not train fans to wait for free live instead of renewing.

How it works

Fees and payouts

Chaturbate’s help documents a broadcaster conversion of $0.05 per token (100 → $5.00, 1,000 → $50.00), with pay periods spanning the 1st–15th and 16th–31st (cutoff midnight Mountain Time). You must be age-verified to convert; studio accounts follow studio payout rules (convert tokens).

What that means in practice: your payout is fixed per token. The viewer’s cost per token depends on which package they buy in the live store. Because of that gap, comparing Chaturbate to OnlyFans as “50% vs 20%” is a rough slogan, not a single official percentage. Prefer: “I keep $0.05 per token; the viewer paid X for that token.”
