OnlyFans promos and free trials: discounts, timing and tracking
OnlyFans gives paid profiles several different tools: profile promotion campaigns (free trial or first-month discount), prepaid subscription bundles, and separate Campaign tracking links. They are not interchangeable. Official how-tos document the promotion-campaign and tracking-link paths below; confirm anything else in your live account.
Offer types (keep them separate)
| Tool | What it is | Documented share / track link |
|---|---|---|
| Profile promotion — first-month discount | Lower subscription price for first-time subscribers | Promotion campaign’s Copy Link to Profile (promote how-to); Creator Center: 5%–100% off for up to 30 days |
| Profile promotion — free trial | Time-boxed free access via the same promotion-campaign flow | Same Copy Link to Profile; settings include offer limit, expiration, and trial duration |
| Subscription bundles | Discounted rate when fans prepay several months | Not the same as a first-month splash promo; when the prepaid bundle ends, fans can re-subscribe at the usual rate (Creator Center) |
| Campaign tracking links | Modified profile URLs that record visits and subscriptions by source | Created under Tracking links—separate from the promotion-campaign copy link (Campaigns how-to) |
| Individual (per-fan) subscription discount | A discount aimed at one fan | Not described in the official posts inspected for this update—if your account shows a per-fan tool, treat its link and settings as separate from the profile campaign |
Do not paste a tracking link and assume it applies a discount. Do not assume a promotion-campaign link records the same statistics as a named Campaign tracking link. Creator Center’s Reach tab can show response to Campaigns, trial links, and other promotions as separate signals.
Timing: claim deadline vs access length
Official promotion-campaign settings split these ideas (promote how-to):
| Setting | Role |
|---|---|
| Offer limit | How many people can claim the offer |
| Expiration | How long the offer itself stays available to claim |
| Trial duration (free trial) | How long claimed free access lasts |
| Discount percentage (first-month discount) | How large the price cut is for that promotional access |
Creator Center’s “up to 30 days” wording sits on promotional discounts for first-time subscribers (5%–100% off). Read that as the documented ceiling for that discounted / free promotional access window, not as a single number that also means “the link expires in 30 days” or “bundles last 30 days.” Offer expiration (claim deadline) and trial duration / discount window are set as separate fields in the promotion-campaign flow.
Price after the promotional window. Creator Center states that when a bundle ends, fans can re-subscribe at the usual rate. For free trials and first-month discounts, the official posts inspected here do not spell out the next billing step (automatic renewal at full price vs a new subscribe action). Check the live offer summary in your account before you promise fans what happens on day N+1.
Start a profile promotion campaign
For paid subscription accounts, OnlyFans documents this path (promote how-to, July 29, 2024):
- Open Settings and select Subscription price and bundles.
- Select Start Promotion Campaign.
- Choose free trial or first month discount.
- Free trial: set offer limit, expiration, and trial duration.
- First-month discount: set offer limit, expiration, and discount percentage.
- Write the special message for new subscribers.
- Select Copy Link to Profile and share that link.
No annotated in-account screenshot is available for this rebuild yet—use the live labels in your Settings if wording has moved.
How you stop or edit a campaign after it is live is not described in that how-to; confirm in-product.
Campaign tracking links (measurement)
Tracking links measure where visits and subscriptions come from. They do not create the discount by themselves (Campaigns how-to):
- Open Profile Settings.
- Under the Subscription header, select Tracking links.
- Select Create New Tracking Link, name it for the place you will use it, then create it.
- Copy the link from Recent and share it.
You can use a tracking link in the same places you advertise a promotion, but keep the promotion-campaign profile link (for the offer) distinct in your notes from the tracking link (for measurement)—or verify in-account whether your current UI combines them.
Free trials
A free trial is the promotion-campaign option with free access for the trial duration you set—not a separate OnlyFans company product.
Worth running when the paid library is ready, you will post during the trial, and you can handle the message volume (use an offer limit). Prefer warm invites over an uncapped blast if you cannot reply.
Risks: temporary free access makes screenshots easier—watermark where it helps and use DMCA / takedown if material appears elsewhere; some claimants never intend to pay.
When the trial ends: official Creator Center and promote how-to pages inspected for this update do not state whether access simply stops or whether a paid subscription can start automatically. Do not promise fans either outcome until you have checked the live offer text or a test claim. Message before the trial ends with what paid access includes—without inventing billing mechanics.
For an always-free teaser page instead of a time-boxed trial, see free vs subscription.
Discount example (illustrative)
Assumptions: listed subscription price $10/month; 50% introductory promotional discount; usual OnlyFans 20% platform fee; no tips, PPV, refunds or payout fees in this sketch.
| Step | Amount |
|---|---|
| Fan payment during the promo | $5.00 |
| After 20% platform fee (you keep 80%) | $4.00 |
That $4 is only for the promotional period covered by the discount. What the fan pays after that window depends on renewal / re-subscribe behavior in your live offer—which is not fully documented in the official posts cited above—so state the normal $10 list price clearly, and confirm the next charge rule in-account before you describe it in ads.
Sharing the offer (links, not typed codes)
Official promotion setup ends with Copy Link to Profile—a shareable URL for that campaign (promote how-to). Fans claim the offer through OnlyFans via that kind of link, not by typing a separate coupon code at checkout.
Third-party pages that advertise “OnlyFans coupon codes” are not part of that documented flow. Send fans your promotion link (and a tracking link if you use one for measurement).
PPV is separate
Subscription promotion campaigns do not automatically discount PPV unlocks. Feature docs describe setting a price when you create a PPV message or (on free profiles) a PPV post (features guide). Whether you can change the price on an already sent unlock, or how to end a limited PPV “sale,” is not established in the official posts checked for this update—do not rely on delete-and-repost instructions unless you have confirmed them in your account.
Bottom line
Use a promotion campaign for free trials or first-month discounts, bundles for prepaid loyalty pricing, and Campaign tracking links for measurement—and keep their links straight. Set claim limits and durations deliberately; treat the documented 30-day figure as the promotional-discount access ceiling unless your live form shows otherwise. Check end-of-offer billing in-product before you describe it to fans.
