TikTok and OnlyFans: rules, risk and how creators use it

TikTok is a short-video app with strict Community Guidelines. OnlyFans is where fans pay for your posts, unlocks and messages. Creators often want both: grow on TikTok, convert on OnlyFans.

Short answer: Treat four checks separately—video, promotion of the offer, destination URL, and website-link access. Adult / sexual OnlyFans offers usually fail the promotion and destination checks. Non-sexual creators can still post ordinary allowed video on TikTok; that does not automatically make OnlyFans an allowed destination.

Public Guidelines do not clearly say whether an OnlyFans URL—sexual or not—may appear in a TikTok bio, caption or link hub. Historical reporting treated OnlyFans links and redirects as high risk. Until TikTok’s live Help or Guidelines clearly allow a specific destination, do not treat OnlyFans (or a hub that lists it) as an approved TikTok link.

Four separate checks

Current TikTok rules

Body exposure and sexualized behaviors

Under Sensitive and mature themes, TikTok does not allow some body exposure or sexual behavior, including adult nudity, sexual activity, sexual services, or sexually suggestive behavior / significant exposure involving young people.

For adults, TikTok generally does not allow adult nudity or sexual activity, with limited exceptions for documentaries, sex education, fiction and art. Those exceptions apply to that framing—they are not a pass for selling sexual services.

Some content that stays up (for example significant adult body exposure or sexually suggestive behavior by adults) can still be age-restricted and kept off the For You feed. TikTok says it uses context—bios, hashtags, captions and sounds—not only the video frame.

Regulated goods and sexual services

Under Integrity and authenticity → Regulated Goods, Services, and Commercial Activities, TikTok does not allow the trade, marketing or promotion of regulated, prohibited or high-risk goods and services. The list includes sexual services, including solicitation or sexcamming.

Trade includes posting links, sharing contact or location information, or directing people off-platform.

Historical enforcement context (2020–2021)

Press reporting from 2020–2021 is background, not a substitute for the live Guidelines:

The Verge (September 17, 2020) reported TikTok confirming that direct OnlyFans links are banned.
Rolling Stone reported TikTok saying it does not allow sexual solicitation or accounts that attempt to redirect traffic, including to OnlyFans, and that creators were removed even when OnlyFans sat behind a third-party hub.

Decide from the current sections above, and re-check them when Guidelines change.

Who should use TikTok for OnlyFans

Website links on your profile

Having a website field is separate from which URLs are allowed.

TikTok Support says you can add a website link on your profile if you have at least 1,000 followers, or if you have a Verified Business Account (Adding a website link to your profile). “Verified Business Account” is the account type named in Support—not the blue verified badge on a profile.

Confirm what your own account shows in Settings. Feature access can differ by account type and region; check Support before changing account type.

Link hubs

A link-in-bio page organizes socials, a shop, a newsletter or memberships behind one short URL. A hub does not change TikTok’s rules.

Where the platform permits your destinations, Ohh.me is one option for organizing your creator links. Follower and Ohh.me share ownership.

OnlyFans Campaign links identify the source or placement you assigned to that URL (Creator Center). An intermediate social or profile link does not by itself prove a subscriber first discovered you on TikTok.

After the four checks, pick one primary job for TikTok for the next 30 days:

Discovery — new follows from allowed video.
Trust — show personality or craft without selling sexual services in-caption.
Conversion — send people somewhere you are allowed to send them (often not TikTok itself for adult offers).

Do not expect one risqué tease to replace a channel that permits adult outbound links. Build recognition with on-platform niches and series; coded bios, spoken usernames or “secret” search terms do not make prohibited adult promotion acceptable.

Measure: hours spent on TikTok vs joins from Campaign links on placements you control. Keep at least one other promo surface active so a TikTok restriction does not wipe your pipeline.

Suggestions to test (allowed video)

Suggestions to test on content that already fits live Guidelines—not proven universal rules:

Open with the point of the clip; cut empty seconds at the start and see whether completion rate improves.
Use clear light and a background that matches the niche.
Prefer a few stronger posts over a large volume of weak ones; pick a cadence you can sustain.
Try relevant sounds or formats, then check reach and whether posts stay within rules.
Experiment with posting times using your analytics.

Example: non-sexual creator

For example, a fitness coach sells workout plans and form checks on a non-sexual OnlyFans membership. On TikTok they post allowed tips: three short form cues, one trend sound for a mobility demo, and one “what’s in this month’s plan” teaser that shows only what TikTok allows.

What to measure: TikTok views and follows; replies asking how to join; Campaign joins from links you place where that destination is permitted. Compare joins per hour of work against another channel in the promotion guide. That measurement plan does not assume an OnlyFans link belongs on TikTok itself.

What not to do

Post nudity, sexual activity or sexual-services marketing on TikTok and hope enforcement “won’t notice.”
Use coded wording, link hubs or spoken usernames as workarounds for rules you already fail.
Rely on an outdated “TikTokers with OnlyFans” table for strategy—those lists rot and often mix celebrities, models and unrelated accounts.
Put all acquisition on one app.
