Selling used underwear as a creator side income
Outcome: leave this page with one realistically priced marketplace listing ready to paste—item, wear note, price, destinations and dispatch—after you have checked membership and fees.
Selling used underwear can be a side income if you are comfortable with the niche, packing orders and the privacy trade-offs of shipping. It is optional—and not for everyone.
This guide focuses on clothing sold through a specialist marketplace. One worked example runs from costs through a finished listing draft. Dollar figures that are not taken from a live checkout screen are labeled hypothetical.
Some outbound marketplace links may be affiliate links. Fees and features change—confirm totals on the destination before you pay to sell.
Is this for you
Good fit when: you can describe items honestly, pack and ship on the schedule you advertise, and accept that labels, tracking and payment records may show identifying information.
Skip or delay when: the idea conflicts with your boundaries; you cannot meet carrier rules for outgoing parcels; or you treated press stories about extreme sale prices as a normal outcome.
You must be an adult, follow the marketplace’s rules and local law, and only list clothing you are allowed to ship.
Where you can sell
Specialist marketplace (this guide’s main path)
Sites such as Sofia Gray are built around worn clothing and related listings. Typical flow: create a seller profile, pay for a seller membership package, list items, keep buyer chat and payment on the platform where required, then ship. You do not need an existing subscription page to open a marketplace shop.
Other marketplaces exist. Compare membership cost, any per-sale fees, verification, payout rules and review tools the same way you would for any storefront.
OnlyFans and physical worn sales
The OnlyFans sources checked for this update did not establish permission to accept tips (or other Fan Payments) for selling and shipping worn underwear. This guide therefore covers marketplace selling, not an OnlyFans tip-menu path for those parcels. OnlyFans’ official merch / Spring-style storefront is for branded merchandise—not a dedicated used-intimate-item channel. General tip-menu structure (digital extras): tip menu ideas.
Marketplace costs (Sofia Gray example)
Figures below mix what Sofia Gray’s public pages advertise with what its Terms allow. Confirm the live Sell Now checkout and payout screens before you budget.
| Topic | What the public pages say | What to verify |
|---|---|---|
| Seller membership | Sell page displays $8.33/month as a monthly equivalent | Billing term, upfront total and renewal—still unverified on a live checkout in this update |
| Sales commission | How-it-works FAQ and marketing: no commission / 0% on sales; membership fee is the charge to open a shop | Order summary when a sale completes |
| Other fees | Marketing focuses on membership + 0% sales commission | Terms also say the company may use membership fees, platform fees, commissions, transaction-related fees and buyer wallet top-ups when made clear to users, and that membership prices can change without notice |
| Payouts | How-it-works: withdraw through payout options after sales | Terms: compensation subject to any minimum threshold or payment processing fees; payout holds where permitted. Check the dashboard for your threshold, methods, currencies and timing |
| Identity / privacy features | Sell page lists ID verification and marketing “anonymity features” | What verification requires from you; what buyers see on your shop |
Treat “0% commission on sales” as an advertised claim until your completed order shows the same. Do not treat marketing privacy language as a guarantee that shipping or payments hide your identity.
Worked example: one listing from costs to copy
Use this as one continuous teaching thread, not a forecast. All dollar amounts in this section are assumed—not taken from a Sofia Gray invoice. The calculator and listing template below start from the same numbers so you can swap in your own.
Assumptions
- Assumed 0% sales commission on this order (replace with whatever your order screen shows).
- Assumed membership cost for the worksheet: $8 for the month, spread across four clothing sales → $2 on this order. This $8 figure is a teaching assumption only; it is not Sofia Gray’s verified fee. If you expect zero sales this period, do not divide membership into the listing—treat the full membership as a period cost you still owe if you keep the membership active.
- One US domestic sale; shipping included in the listing price.
- Hypothetical costs: garment $12, packing materials $1.50, postage $5.50.
- Listing price to the buyer: $40.
- Active work on messaging, listing, packing and dispatch for this order: 45 minutes. Elapsed wear time while the item is on is separate and is not counted in that 45 minutes. The calculator can optionally value those 45 minutes if you enter an hourly figure; the table below leaves time unvalued.
Cash costs vs allocated costs
| Line | Kind | Amount (hypothetical) |
|---|---|---|
| Buyer pays | Sale | $40.00 |
| Garment | Cash | −$12.00 |
| Packaging | Cash | −$1.50 |
| Postage | Cash | −$5.50 |
| Sales commission (assumed $0) | Cash | −$0.00 |
| Membership allocation (assumed $8 ÷ 4 sales) | Allocated | −$2.00 |
| Remaining before optional time and tax | — | $19.00 |
That $19 is not yet “profit.” You still need to decide what your time is worth and set aside tax. If you sold fewer than four items that month, or your real membership and fees differ, redo the rows—or use the calculator.
Finished listing draft (same example)
- Item: Mid-rise cotton briefs, solid navy, size M
- Description: Worn for one ordinary weekday under jeans; air-dried; sealed for shipping. No scent additives.
- Price: $40
- Shipping: Included in the listing price
- Destinations: Contiguous United States only
- Dispatch: Ships within three business days of payment clearing on-platform
Sofia Gray’s marketing also shows broad listing bands (about $10–$25 / $25–$50 / $50+). Those are marketplace marketing ranges, not Follower results. Extreme press headlines about single pairs are not a planning baseline.
Pricing calculator
Replace the teaching defaults with your garment, packing, postage, fees and membership. The tool separates cash costs, membership allocation, an optional value for time, and amounts before tax. With JavaScript off, the default result above the form still shows the worked-example math.
Listing pricing calculator
IllustrativeTeaching defaults match the worked example above—not a forecast and not Sofia Gray’s verified invoice.
Buyer pays $40.00. Cash costs $19.00, membership allocation $2.00 → $19.00 remaining before optional time value and tax.
- Sales fee on this order
- $0.00
- Cash costs (garment + pack + postage + fee)
- $19.00
- Membership allocation on this order
- $2.00
- Membership for the period (if unallocated)
- —
- Remaining before optional time and tax
- $19.00
- Optional time value (45 min)
- $0.00
- After optional time (still before tax)
- $19.00
Expected sales are 0, so membership is not spread onto this listing. Cash remaining above is after cash costs only; you still owe the full membership for the period if you keep the membership active.
Persistence: values restore from this browser’s local storage when you return. Clearing site data removes them. No account or personal details are collected.
Listing template
Copy or edit the draft, then paste into the marketplace. Keep descriptions within the marketplace’s rules and your own boundaries. Do not put your legal name, home address, phone or personal email in the template fields.

Photos and listings
List clothing you are willing to sell and ship: underwear, lingerie pieces, socks, gym wear and similar garments the marketplace allows.
Photos of the item alone are enough for some listings. Photos of you wearing the item are an optional choice—use them only if your boundaries and the platform’s rules allow it. You can keep your face out of frame if that is part of how you sell.
Write a short description: style, size if useful, material and a plain wear note that matches what you actually did. Stay inside what you will fulfill. If a buyer asks for something outside that note, either update the listing before you agree or decline—do not invent a wear history after payment.
If you also run a fan page, you can mention the shop where each platform’s rules allow it. Marketplace selling does not require that page.
Shipping and privacy
Physical orders create more records than digital files: sender and recipient labels, tracking, payment accounts and, for some destinations, customs forms.
Do not omit required sender details or invent a false name or address. Check your carrier’s rules for what must appear on the label.
A PO box or business mail receiving service can keep parcels off your home doorstep if that service allows the kind of outgoing mail you need (and returns, if you offer them). Ask the provider before you print labels: some PO boxes are receive-oriented; retail counters and private mailboxes differ on outbound parcels and return handling.
Do not promise anonymity. Even with a PO box or mail service, tracking numbers, payment processors, ID verification and customs paperwork can reveal information to the platform, the buyer, the carrier or authorities.
International orders: accept them only after you check that your carrier and the destination country allow the item and that you can complete any customs declaration truthfully. If you have not verified a route, keep the listing domestic (as in the example above) until you have.
When the marketplace requires on-platform chat and payment, keep those steps there so you are not pushed into personal email or off-platform apps.

Readiness check
Confirm the listing you are about to post. Then take the next step below.
Before you publish this listing
Tick what you have finished. Checks are saved in this browser only and are not sent to Follower. You can still use the list as ordinary text if scripting is off.
Next step
Open one specialist marketplace’s seller signup (or your existing seller dashboard) and post this one listing using your edited template. Confirm the membership total and payout minimum on-screen before you pay. Ship only where carrier and destination rules are clear.
